The Church of Our Savior could be a wood Lutheran Church in Qaqortoq, the biggest city in southern Kalaallit Nunaat. It had been established in 1832. The red church is an element of the recent, colonial harbour district of the city. The church has been refurbished and restored many times since. The church housed a library at the second floor till the Forties. The ceiling ship could be a model of the royal trade ship Hvalfisken, that was in commission for nearly a century, beginning in 1804. The church conjointly holds the ceremonial wreath and therefore the lifebuoy for M/S Hans Hedtoft, that sank south of Cape Farewell on her maiden voyage on Jan thirty, 1959.The buoy was found on Iceland and is that the solely part found of the ship. The organ of the church could be a four stop, foot pumped-up, Marcussen Organ from 1930. Outside the church could be a memorial stele for the missionary Hans Egede and his adult female Gertrud Rasmus Christian Rask.
