Millinocket could be a former mill city in Penobscot County, Maine, us. The population was five,203 at the 2000 census. Millinocket is each a forest product and recreational space. Once securing land rights, the chosen website was at the junction of the West Branch of the Penobscot and Millinocket Stream, wherever it stands these days. Things sped, and on might fifteen, 1899, construction began on the nice Northern mill. Because the location wasn’t close to existing cities, it became necessary to make one. Millinocket, which means “the land of the many islands” in spite of everything the islands within the Penobscot (and having nothing to try to to with the mill), was incorporated on March sixteen, 1901.
