The urban center fireplace Alarm Building could be a historic artistic movement building at 1010 East Eighth Street in urban center, Oklahoma. It had been inbuilt 1931 and served because the central news station for the urban center department of local government. Fires were according from alarm boxes unfold around city to the current building and also the firemen during this building would alert the fireplace station nearest to the fireplace. At the time of its construction this method was the most effective obtainable warning device.The building was designed by creator Frederick V. Kershner and impressed by Mayan temple style. The building has an in depth earthenware frieze program, with many fire-related motifs. A revenant theme on the front facade could be a double-headed dragon. The massive frieze over the front entrance depicts a unadorned male figure holding in his hands Gamewell alarm tape (part of the primary warning device utilized in this building; the paper was punched with the amount of the fireplace alarm box creating the call) and World Health Organization is flanked by 2 equipt firefighters. The building originally had 2 giant artistic movement vogue lanterns on top of the front door.The building was employed by the fireplace department till 1984. It had been left vacant and fell into unsoundness. In 1994, it had been purchased by Martin Newman, chairman of the urban center Preservation Commission. In 2000, The yankee respiratory organ Association of Sooner State purchased the building as its new headquarters. Once a $5 million effort, the renovation of the building was completed in 2005. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
