The village was originally named Wroclaw as a result of the town’s original German settlers were from the town of Wroclaw in Silesia. The city was based in 1873, and renamed Lindenhurst in 1891. Lindenhurst may be a village in Suffolk County, New York, on the southern shore of Long Island within the city of metropolis.
