Nutrioso is Associate in Nursing unorganized community in Apache County, Arizona, u. S.. Nutrioso is found on U.S. Route one hundred eighty and U.S. Route 191 twelve miles (19 km) sou’-sou’-east of Eagar. Nutrioso features a post workplace with code 85932.
Nutrioso’s name comes from the Spanish word “Nutria” (“Otter”). The primary settlers within the space either killed Associate in Nursing otter and a bear (“Oso” in Spanish) and took the name from that incident, killed a beaver and a bear and victimized the term “Nutria” or killed simply a beaver and used the term “Nutrioso” to mean “Of Beavers”.
Nutrioso rose in importance as Mormon refugees resettled here once different near settlements were attacked by Native yankee teams. By 1880, a fort had been made and by 1883 a post workplace was established.
