The Winton Place Methodist Episcopal Church may be a historic place of worship within the Winton Place neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, u. S. That was made because the home of a congregation of the Methodist Episcopal Church within the late nineteenth century.The congregation grew out of a bunch that was supported in 1856; though the members erected their initial building in 1860, they weren’t formally organized till 1872.
Hannaford’s style was a stone building, one-and-one-half stories tall;its foundation is built of sedimentary rock,laid in building block blocks,while its roof consists of slates.It is predominately a Romanesque architecture Revival structure, with bound components that correspond the Richardsonian Romanesque architecture|style of architecture|type of architecture} style.
Among the foremost distinctive components of its facade may be a giant Romanesque architecture Revival arch on top of the doorway.Other Romanesque architecture Revival details embody 3 arcaded windows with columns, and an outsized polygonal shape tower on the southeastern corner of the building, that options a belfry, slender windows, and a steep roof.
Early in March 1980, the Winton Place Methodist Episcopal Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Seven different Cincinnati-area church buildings designed by Hannaford, yet as dozens of different structures within the town, were listed on the National Register at a similar time as a part of a multiple property submission.Today, the place of worship is not any longer utilized by any congregation of the big United Methodists: it’s currently the house of the Winton Community Free Methodist Church.
