Morelia may be a town and municipality within the north central a part of the state of Michoacán in central North American country. The town is within the Guayangareo vale and is that the capital of the state. The most pre-Hispanic cultures here were the P’urhépecha and therefore the Matlatzinca, however no major cities were based within the vale throughout this point. The Spanish took management of the world within the 1520s. The Spanish underneath Viceroy Antonio Diamond State Mendoza based a settlement here in 1541 with the name of Valladolid, that became rival to the close town of Pátzcuaro for dominance in Michoacán.
In 1580, this group action led to Valladolid’s favor and it became the capital of the colonial province. When the Mexican War of Independence, the town was renamed Morelia in honor of José María Morelos y Pavón, WHO is from here. In 1991, the town was declared a UN agency World Heritage web site for its well preserved colonial buildings and layout of the historic center.
