Tamworth may be a city in author County, New Hampshire, us. Granted in 1766 by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth, this city was named in honor of his shut friend, British Admiral Washington Shirley, Viscount Tamworth. The admiral’s female offspring, Selina Shirley, was instrumental within the origination of Dartmouth. The village of Whittier, like Mount Whittier in Ossipee, is called for the author John Greenleaf Whittier. The Chinook Kennels here raised sled dogs for the flag officer Richard E. Byrd Antarctic expeditions and therefore the Army’s search-and-rescue units. The Barnstormers Theatre summer toy was established here in 1931 by Francis Cleveland, son of President Cleveland. He supported the theatre till his death in 1995. Barnstormers is hailed because the oldest endlessly running skilled theatre within the state.
