Detail InformationEdit

The Brockman Building could be a 12-story Classical and Romanesque Revival building set in Downtown la. Inbuilt 1912, it had been listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The building was inbuilt 1912 for John Brockman (1841-1925) and designed by martyr D. Barnett (1863-c. 1925) of Barnett, Haynes & Barnett. The Brockman Building was the primary building west of the Broadway industrial District to succeed in the city’s 150-foot height limit. Brockman’s move started a westward movement of the downtown industrial district and turned Seventh Street into the city’s high-end retail district. Many malls (including the first J.W. Robinson Co.) and workplace buildings were developed on Seventh Street when the Brockman Building was completed.
The building was regenerate into AN 80-unit condominium project from 2006 to 2008, however the building’s owner filed for bankruptcy protection before the project was completed. The building was owned by Bank of America till Apr 2012, once it had been purchased by Denver’s Simpson Housing LLC in what was reportable as “the second highest price-per-unit sale in Downtown Los Angeles’ history.” there have been reportedly twenty six offers for the building. The largely-finished lofts are going to be luxury rentals. The popular Bottega Louie eating house has operated on the building’s ground floor since 2009.
