Shamokin could be a town in county County, Pennsylvania, at the western fringe of the anthracite Region. (The original Saponi village of Shamokin was set close to the present website of Sunbury, the seat of county County.) At the 2010 census the population was seven,374 residents. town of Shamokin is boxed by its sister community, Coal administrative division, Pennsylvania, and by the World’s largest artificial mountain, the valley Burn work Cameron stalk Bank. The work was operative till the Seventies and was later demolished. per the u. s. office, town features a total space of zero.8 sq. miles (2.1 km2), all of it land. Shamokin has 2 little creeks that divide the city. Carbon Run merges with Shamokin Creek within the north of the city and ultimately empties into the river simply south of Shamokin Dam close to Sunbury, PA.
