Opened in 1852, Mount Royal graveyard could be a 165-acre (668 000 m sq) terraced graveyard on the north slope of Mount Royal within the borough of Outremont, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The site shares the mountain with the abundant larger adjacent Roman Catholic graveyard — Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
Mount Royal graveyard is currently seagirt on the southeast by Mount Royal Park, on the west by Notre-Dame-des-Neiges graveyard and on the north by 2 mortal cemeteries.The graveyard was selected a National Historic website of North American country in 1999 as associate example of “Exceptional 19th-century graveyard style and aesthetics.”
