Deux-Montagnes could be a municipality in southwestern Quebec, North American nation on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles wherever it flows out of Lake of 2 Mountains (Lac des Deux Montagnes). It’s the seat of the Regional County Municipality of Deux-Montagnes within the larger Montreal region.
The name “Deux-Montagnes” (French for “Two Mountains”) dates to 1674 once it absolutely was given to the lake bordering on the municipality, and to the demesne that stood north of the lake. Originally supported because the Village Municipality of Saint-Eustache-sur-le-Lac in 1921, it became a town in 1958, and altered its name to Deux-Montagnes in 1963.The municipality has 2 passenger train stations, on the Deux-Montagnes Line: Deux-Montagnes and Grand-Moulin.
