Sierra town may be a census-designated place in Sierra County, California, u. S.. The elevation of Sierra town is five,407 feet (1,648 m), and also the city is set within the canon of the North Yuba watercourse on Calif. State Route forty nine, twelve miles northeast of the seat of Sierra County, Downieville. A sheer rock peak called the Sierra Buttes, 7,818 feet high, is just 1.6 miles from Sierra town and towers over the city. The population was 221 at the 2010 census.
