Mount Desert may be a city on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, u. S.. The population was two,109 at the 2000 census. Incorporated in 1789, the city presently encompasses the villages of Otter Creek, Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Somesville, Hall Quarry, and Pretty Marsh.
According to the u. S. Federal agency, the city features a total space of fifty five.2 sq. Miles (143.0 km²), of which, 36.9 sq. Miles (95.6 km²) of it’s land and eighteen.3 sq. Miles (47.4 km²) of it (33.16%) is water. 1
As of the census of 2000, there have been two,109 people, 962 households, and 583 families residing within the city. The population density was fifty seven.1 folks per area unit (22.1/km²). There have been one,900 housing units at a mean density of fifty one.5 per area unit (19.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was ninety eight.62% White, 0.19% African yank, 0.09% Native yank, 0.09% Asian, 0.14% Pacific inhabitant, 0.24% from different races, and 0.62% from 2 or a lot of races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were zero.62% of the population.
