St. Francis Xavier Church is found at 607 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, Ohio.This was the situation of the primary diocesan cathedral and also the center of early Roman Catholic life in Cincinnati. It had been dedicated to St. Peter on Dec seventeen, 1826. “Christ Church” (founded 1819), the city’s 1st Catholic Church was settled at tracheophyte and Liberty streets.
Its frame building was captive on wheels to Sycamore Street in 1826 to function the primary seminary. Saint Francis angel Church now’s on the previous website, ashore purchased from James Findlay.St. Francis Xavier has existed as its own parish since 1845 once the cathedral was captive to St. Peter enchained Cathedral at Eight & Plum Streets.
The parish has been beneath the direction of the Society of Good Shepherd (Jesuits) since 1840. This brick structure with cladding and ornate tower was in-built 1860.Xavier University and St. Xavier highschool were based next to the St. Xavier Church.Today the church serves the downtown community.
