Detail InformationEdit

The Tolmie Peak hearth Lookout is one in all four hearth lookout stations inbuilt Mount Rainier park by the park Service between 1932 and 1934. The two-story structure homes a lookout on the higher level and storage at ground level. The look was ready below the direction of king A. Nickel of the NPS Branch of Plans and styles. The newly-completed structure lost its roof to a storm and had to be repaired. It’s secured against sturdy winds by cables hooked up to deadmen. The wood frame structure is presently used as a visitant contact purpose on weekends.
The Tolmie Peak Lookout was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March thirteen, 1991. It’s a part of the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District, that encompasses the complete park and that acknowledges the park’s inventory of Park Service-designed rustic design.
