Drakesbad (formerly, Drake’s Hot Springs, Drake’s Place, Hot Springs natural depression, associate degreed Sifford’s) is an unorganized community in Plumas County, California. It lies at associate degree elevation of 5705 feet (1739 m). Drakesbad is found on Hot Springs Creek, 5.5 miles (8.9 km) west of Mount Harkness. Drakesbad is probably most celebrated for the Drakesbad Guest Ranch placed there.
The place was 1st known as Hot Springs natural depression, then Drake’s Place and Drake’s Hot Springs. The name honors E.R. Drake UN agency settled at the place in decennary. The name Drakesbad was presented once possession transferred to the Sifford family UN agency substituted -bad (German for “Bath” or “spa”) for a people.
