The Pope House repository, inbuilt 1901, may be a fixed up home once in hand by Dr. M.T. Pope, a distinguished African-American subject of Raleigh, North geographic area. The Pope home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is additionally an officer project of the Save America’s Treasures Program.
The Pope House was formally listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November twenty two, 1999. The subsequent month the trustees of the Pope Charitable Foundation determined to start the method of turning the house into a repository. One month later, The Pope House repository Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit organization. The intensive family papers were sorted and listed, and given to the Southern Historical assortment at the University Of North geographic area at Chapel Hill.
