Kennecott, additionally referred to as Kennecott Mines or AHRS web site, is Associate in Nursing abandoned mining camp within the Valdez-Cordova Census space within the U.S. State of Alaska that was the middle of activity for several copper mines. It’s situated beside the Kennicott ice mass, northeast of port, inside Wrangell-St. Elias park and Preserve. The camp and mines ar currently a National Historic Landmark District administered by the park Service.
