Jonquiere was a city on the Saguenay River in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, close to Chicoutimi. In 2002, Jonquiere became an arrondissement, or borough, of the integrated town of Saguenay. The Rivire aux Sables runs through the centre of Jonquiere.
Within the summer of 1996, vital harm to the city’s buildings was caused by intensive flooding.Jonquiere was based in 1847 by Marguerite Belley, World Health Organization came from La Malbaie to decide on the Riviere aux Sables. It had been named when the Marquis First State La Jonquiere, governor of recent France from 1749 to 1752.
