Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple is one of the famous temple coming under the administration of Cochin Devaswom Board. The Goddess Rajarajesweri is worshipped here as Saraswathy in morning, Lakshmi at noon and Durga in the evening. Along with Lakshmi the idols of lord Narayana, Brahma, Siva, Ganesh, Subrahmanya and Sastha are also present on the same temple. The most important featival in Chottanikara Bhagavathy temple is ‘Makam Thozal’ which is celebrated in the month of Kumbham (February/March).The main poojas in the temple are pushpanjali, guruthy, sathru samhara pushpanjali, guruthi pushpanjali, lalitha sahasra namarchana, swayamvara pushpanjali, saraswatha pushpanjali, mruthyunjaya pushpanjali, lykyamathyam pushpanjali, ashtothara pushpanjali, bhagyasooktham pushpanjali and moolamanthra pushpanjali. Chottanikkara temple, is a living legend shrowned in magnificent mythology and awe-inspiring truth. Its historical appeal and traditional influence on generations of people is tremendous. Legends say that the presence of Divinity here was worshipped by BHOGACHARYA. The deity which is swayambhoo in latrite called Rudraksha Sila was worshipped by divine souls like Adisankaracharya, Vilwamangalam Swamiyar, Kakkasseri Bhattathiri and Chemmangattu Bhattathiri. It is the cynosure of thousands of devotees swarming from all over the world on all auspicious and festive occations.The golden hued Idol bedecked with flowers, garlands, jewels and bathed in myrid of light shine splendidly..

Others : Autorickshaw : This is a cheap method of transport between attractions. You can find an auto stand at almost every bus stop, and at important places near junctions and residential areas. Make sure you agree on a fare with the driver before the journey. The govt fixed rates starts at Rs 10 for the first 1.25 km and Rs 6 per km thereafter with a premium of 15% at night (7PM-6AM).
