Chottanikkara, a picturesque village located on the outskirts of Kochi, is renowned as an important religious destination in central Kerala. The centuries old Chottanikkara Bhagavathi temple is the prime Arrraction of this town. Chottanikkara is the peeth of Rajarajeswari Devi, a calm form of Goddess Durga. Hoards of pilgrims can be seen thronging Chottanikkara during the Makam Thozhal festival held during February – March & Navaratri festival during October – November. Pilgrims coming to Chottanikkara can take advantage of its proximity with Eranakulam & hence visit its many nearby Arrractions at ease. Others : Autorickshaw : This is a cheap method of transport between attractions. You can find an auto stand at almost every bus stop, and at important places near junctions and residential areas. Make sure you agree on a fare with the driver before the journey. The govt fixed rates starts at Rs 10 for the first 1.25 km and Rs 6 per km thereafter with a premium of 15% at night (7PM-6AM).
