Ataa was a settlement within the Disko Bay region of western Kalaallit Nunaat. It had been situated on the jap coast of Alluttoq Island, about sixty klick (37 mi) to the north of Ilulissat. The settlement was abandoned around 1960. It served as a background for the 1997 Danish film Smilla’s Sense of Snow, Associate in Nursing adaptation of Peter Høeg’s 1992 novel Miss Smilla’s Feeling for Snow.
