Adin could be a census-designated place in Modoc County, California. It’s set twenty nine miles (47 km) southwest of Alturas, at associate degree elevation of 4203 feet (1281 m). It became a sawmill city within the mid-1930s once the Edgerton Brothers Mill stirred into city, from the Adin Mountains.
Adin, the primary city in Modoc county west of the Warner Mountains, was supported in 1869 by Adin McDowell because the offer purpose for the mining city of Hayden in northern Lassen County, and was named for him in 1870. The Aidenville post workplace opened in 1871, and adjusted its name to Adin in 1876.
A 1913 book delineated Adin as having a population of two hundred, and because the chief city of the massive natural depression. It became a sawmill city within the mid-1930s once the Edgerton Brothers Mill stirred into city, from the Adin Mountains.The city suffered devastating fires in 1904, 1915, 1931, and eventually in 1939. Following the 1939 hearth, the city organized a volunteer hearth brigade.
