Sugar Creek is a town in Clay and Jackson counties in the U.S. State of Missouri. Per the u. S. Office, town encompasses a total space of eight.9 sq. Miles (23.2 square kilometers), of which, 8.3 sq. Miles (21.4 square kilometers) of it’s land and 0.7 sq. Miles (1.8 sq. Kilometers) of it (7.61%) is water. Like several cities on the Missouri stream, Sugar Creek shows proof of getting once been the house of the yankee Indian. History attributes the name “Sugar Creek” to Indian lore and a creek lined with sugar maples that ran through town.
