This is the foremost remote of the four coastal cabins. Placed on the easterly shore of North Arm in Nuka Bay (a forty minute flight from Homer or hr from politico.) seek advice from USGS map, Seldovia C-2.
Old growth spruce forest, dense forest coppice. Slender steep-sided depression. North Arm Cabin affords an outstanding read of a spectacular 900 foot cataract (Waterfall) tumbling off Storm Mountain across the bay. Cabin elevation is simply on top of water level.
Kayaking, boating, solitude, and recurrent event pool exploration. Hiking is very restricted on the far side the recurrent event flats. Restricted fishing is obtainable inside the salt water for halibut and rockfish, and on the beaches for pink (July) salmon. A ship is needed for access to those fisheries. Review Last Frontier Department of Fish and Game fishing rules.
Black and Ursus arctos, bald eagles, ocean birds and varied marine mammals.
Sleeps up to six individuals. Includes six wood bunks, work counter, table with chairs, fuel stove (fuel is provided), asphyxiator, informational bulletin board, and smoke detector. Encompasses a pit rest room. Water is obtainable however should be treated. Not included: Running water, electricity, pad or bedding, cookery utensils.
Flat beach exposes intensive recurrent event flats at tide. Low tides build anchoring a ship tough. This cabin isn’t equipped with a ramp; but, the short trek from the beach is comparatively level and obstruction-free. All food should be unbroken secured within the cabin in the least times. There’s no looking allowed during this space.
