The Verizon Building – antecedently called the Barclay-Vesey Building and therefore the ny telephone service Building – may be a 32-story building situated at one hundred forty West Street between Barclay and rebel Streets, surfing to Washington Street, within the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, ny town. The building was made from 1923 to 1927, and was designed within the art movement vogue by Ralph Walker of the firm McKenzie, Voorhees & Gmelin.

The building is adjacent to the planet Trade Center web site and seven World Trade Center, and it intimate with major injury within the terrorist attack, 2001 attacks. Its thick masonry exterior and use of masonry to safeguard steel columns and structural components helped the building stand up to the attacks. Restoration of the building once the attacks took 3 years, at a value of $1.4 billion. The building, that has been referred to as “[O]ne of the foremost vital structures in building design”, was the old company headquarters of Verizon Communications.
