The Freedom Tower may be a building in Miami, Florida, designed by Schultze and Weaver. It’s used presently as a memorial to Cuban immigration to the u. S.. It’s placed at 600 Biscayne avenue on the Wolfson field of Miami Dade school. On Sept ten, 1979, it had been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It had been selected a U.S. National Historic Landmark on October six, 2008. On Gregorian calendar month eighteen, 2012, the AIA’s Everglade State Chapter placed the building on its list of Everglade State Architecture: one hundred Years. One hundred Places because the Freedom Tower / once Miami News and Metropolis Building.
In 1997 the building was purchased for US$4.1 million by Jorge Mas Canosa, leader of the Cuban yankee National Foundation, and renovated and reborn into a monument for the refugees UN agency fled to the u. S. From communist Cuba. It housed a deposit, library, meeting hall, and also the offices of the Cuban yankee National Foundation.More recently, Miami Dade school has hosted major exhibitions together with showcasing the works of masters Salvidor Dali, Francisco Jose de Goya and architect since the Martin family given the tower to the establishment.
