Onyx (formerly, Scodie) could be a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, u. S.. Calcedony is found three.5 miles (6 km) east-northeast of Weldon, at Associate in Nursing elevation of 2795 feet (852 m). The population was 475 at the 2010 census, down from 476 at the 2000 census. Per the u. S. Authority, the CDP encompasses a total space of eleven.5 sq. Miles (30 km2), over ninety nine of it land. The place was originally referred to as Scodie in honor of William Scodie, World Health Organization opened a store in 1861. The primary post workplace at calcedony opened in 1889.
