Cold Spring could be a village set within the city of Philipstown in Putnam County, New York.It borders the smaller village of Nelsonville. The central space of the village is on the National Register of Historic Places because the Cold Spring Historic District thanks to its several healthy buildings, created to accommodate staff at the close West Point metalworks (itself a Registered Historic Place today). The village, set within the Hudson Highlands, sits on a inlet across the watercourse from West Point, at the deepest purpose of the river.
