Kaupo is one in all the districts of ancient Hawaii (moku within the Hawaiian language) of island in Hawaii. Kaupo may be a terribly remote and sparsely inhabited property agriculture community.
Kaupo is found on the southeastern shore of Maui Island, west of Kipahulu on the Kahikinui outline. Kaupo is found on a really rugged and desolate aspect of the island. The Kahikinui Forest Reserve is found within the space, yet as a district of Haleakalā parkland. A path leads from close to the summit of Haleakalā through Kaupo Gap.
Kaupo was “Wahipana” (Special Place) for ancient Hawaiians. Within the early decade several families lived in Kaupo. Fishing, farming, searching and agriculture were primary occupations. In 1859 the district was combined therewith of Hana. The Huialoha Church is found within the district.
