The population was one,683 at the 2010 census. Vevay was supported in 1802 by Swiss immigrants intending on cultivating grapes and manufacturing wine. It was named when the Swiss city of Vevey. Vevay features a reputation as being home of the primary commercial winery within the u. S.. Once Swiss Confederation County was fashioned in 1814, Vevay was created the seat.
