Kaupo is one in every of the districts of ancient Hawaii (moku within the Hawaiian language) of island in Hawaii. Kaupo could be a terribly remote and sparsely inhabited property farming community.
Kaupo is found along the southeastern shore of Maui, west of Kipahulu on the Kahikinui outline. Kaupo is found on a really rugged and desolate facet of the island. The Kahikinui Forest Reserve is found within the space, furthermore as a part of Haleakalā park. A path leads from close to the summit of Haleakalā through Kaupo Gap.
Kaupo was “Wahipana” (Special Place) for ancient Hawaiians. Within the early decennary several families lived in Kaupo. Fishing, farming, looking and farming were primary occupations. In 1859 the district was combined with that of Hana. The Huialoha Church is found within the district.
