Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic web site could be a u. s. National Historic web site settled on the northwestern coast of the island of Hawaiʻi. The web site preserves the National Historic Landmark ruins of the last major Ancient Hawaiian temple, and other historic sites.Puʻukoholā Heiau meaning “Temple on hill of the Whale” was the result, most likely on the location of associate older temple from regarding 1580.It was engineered entirely by hand with no mortar, in but a year. The red stones were transported by an individual’s chain regarding fourteen miles long, from Pololū vale to the East. Construction was supervised by Kamehameha’s brother Keliʻimaikaʻi, involving thousands of individuals.
