Snowshoe is AN unorganised space in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, known for the Snowshoe Mountain holiday resort. The area is amongst the Allegheny Mountains, situated within the bowl formed convergence of 2 ranges, Cheat and Back Allegheny, at the head of the Shavers Fork of the Cheat watercourse. Snowshoe is home to the second highest point in the state and the peak elevation for Cheat Mountain, at Thorny Flat, that reaches four,848feet (1,478m) higher than water level.
