The city of Elmira in Ontario, North American nation is that the largest community within the administrative division of Woolwich within the Regional Municipality of Waterloo and is found fifteen kilometer to the north of the town of Waterloo.
While the land comprising Woolwich administrative division originally belonged to the lake followed by the Mohawk Indians, the primary settlers arrived in Woolwich administrative division within the late eighteenth century. In 1798, William Wallace was one among the primary settlers within the space when he was deeded eighty six,078 acres (348 km2) of land on the Grand stream for a value of $16,364. Originally Block 3 of Indian Lands, this space currently includes an oversized a part of Woolwich administrative division. The parcel of land referred to as “Woolwich’ was named in honour of a government surveyor.
