The Buffalo History repository (founded because the Buffalo Historical Society, and later named the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society) is found at one repository Court (formerly twenty five Nottingham Court) in Buffalo, New York, simply east of elm Avenue and off of Nottingham Terrace, north of the Scajaquada thruway, within the northwest corner of Delaware Park. It occupies the building made in 1901 because the big apple State marquee for that year’s Pan yankee Exposition, the only extant permanent structure from the exposition. As planned, the Buffalo Historical Society enraptured into the building once the exposition.
Founded in 1862, the Buffalo Historical Society’s 1st president was United States President. Its exhibits, programs, and events square measure a magnet for schoolchildren, families, and students. It’s hosted observances of Lincoln’s Birthday for over a century. In 1960, the Society modified its name to the Buffalo And Erie County Historical Society, and in Oct 2012 it became The Buffalo History repository.
From 1879 to 1947, the Society printed pioneering scholarship on the individuals, events, and history of the Niagara Frontier. Several of these volumes square measure currently on-line fully text.
