The H. Alden Smith home is a historic Richardsonian architectural style house simply west of downtown city, Minnesota. It had been designed in 1887 by noted native designer William Channing Whitney. Its owner was a rich businessperson, a partner in Smith and Wyman Sash and Door Company. It had been once a part of a bunch of different mansions on Harmon Place, however the world is currently primarily home to flats, warehouses, and Metropolitan State University. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It was then used as a building for concerning 2 years, then as associate degree edifice, a guidance clinic, and a location for cinematography of the film kick the bucket Fred. In 1993, the city junior college Foundation bought the building for $350,000 and raised funds to renovate the structure. It’s currently the Wells Family school Center at intervals the city Community and Technical school.
