Whittier is found on the railroad and therefore the Tuckasegee stream, between Bryson City downstream to the west, and Dillsboro upstream to the southeast. John Greenleaf Whittier is Associate in Nursing unorganised community in Jackson and fellow counties within the western a part of the U.S. State of North geographical area. Based in 1881 by Clark John Greenleaf Whittier once he purchased sixty,000 acres (240 km2) of land within the space, it had been incorporated as a city from 1887 to 1933. The city declined following the collapse of the lumber trade throughout the good Depression.
