The Atchafalaya Basin Bridge may be a combine of parallel bridges within the United States of America state of Pelican State between Baton Rouge and Lafayette that carries interstate ten over the Atchafalaya Basin. With a complete length of ninety six,095 feet (29,290 m) or eighteen.2 miles, it’s the fourteenth longest bridge within the World by total length.
The bridge includes 2 exits: one for booze Bay (LA 975) and another for Butte La Rose (LA 3177). Whereas the bridges run parallel for many of their length, they merge once crossing the booze Bay Pilot Channel and also the Atchafalaya stream.
Accidents occur ofttimes close to the 2 stream crossings as each ar terribly slim and lack shoulders. In 1999, Governor microphone Foster lowered the regulation on the bridge from seventy MPH to sixty MPH. In 2003, the Pelican State general assembly enacted new traffic laws for the bridge.
