The Corbin Building may be a historic former office block situated at thirteen John Street at the corner of street – wherever it’s numbered as 192 – within the monetary District of Manhattan, ny town. It had been inbuilt 1888-89 and was designed by Francis H. Kimball within the Romanesque|style of architecture|type of architecture} Revival style. The building was named for state capital Corbin, a president of the Long Island Rail Road. The building options a brick, stone and earthenware polychromy exterior, and its interior rounded ceilings use a Guastavino tile system. It had been reported to be the tallest industrial building in ny town at The Time of its completion.
The building was restored by the MTA as a part of agency discoverer Center project. The bottom associate degreed basement levels of the building was incorporated into the discoverer Center and is an entrance to the subway stations below. The outside and interior of the building was rebuilt to agree its original nineteenth century construction as closely as attainable. The building was extra to the National Register of Historic Places on December eighteen, 2003.
