Long Wharf Theatre could be a noncommercial establishment in metropolis, Connecticut, a pioneer within the not-for-profit regional theatre movement, the conceiver of many outstanding plays, and a venue wherever several internationally better-known actors have appeared. Based in 1965, the theatre has received various awards over the years, together with a Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre and newspaper publisher Prizes for many of its original plays. The theatre, presently crystal rectifier by creative Director Gordon Edelstein and director Joshua Borenstein, is committed to the creation of recent works and also the reexamination of classic plays.
