Detail InformationEdit

The Eureka may be a side-wheel paddle boat, in-built 1890, that is currently preserved at the port of entry Maritime National Historical Park in port of entry, California. Originally named the Ukiah to commemorate the railway’s recent extension into town of Ukiah, the boat was designed by the port of entry and Pacific Railroad Company at their Tiburon yard. The Eureka has been selected a National Historic Landmark. The ship originally carried commuters between port of entry and Tiburon throughout the Day and hauled railroad freight cars in the dark. In 1907, Ukiah was re-routed to the Sausalito–San Francisco Ferry Building route by its new homeowners, Northwestern Pacific Railroad.
