The Khutbah Mosque is the first mosque in Pondicherry, which was constructed in the 17th century. The word Khutbah means preaching and there is daily preaching and prayer session held at the mosque, along with special Friday prayers. It was situated in the white area, where French colonial rulers ordered the Islamic neighbourhood to shift to the southern end. Tourists visiting the destination can also go to the dargah of Moulla Saiubum. There is a small pond with fishes and a clean hall in this mosque, along with Jenesha. It also has a Ramzan fasting food cooking hall for the visitors.
