Incorporated in 1865, the name “Watseka” derives from the Potawatomi name “Watch-e-kee”, “Daughter of the Evening Star”, the spouse of early japanese Illinois settler Gurdon Saltonstall Hubbard. Watseka may be a town in and therefore the seat of Iroquois County, Illinois, us. It’s settled close to fifteen miles (24km) west of the Illinois-Indiana boundary line on U.S. Route 24.
