Pine purpose was the townsite designed at the Pine purpose Mine within the Northwest Territories, Canada, that was Associate in Nursing open-pit lead and metallic element mine. The primary buildings were erected in 1952 throughout the initial exploration and development campaign, and even before that variety of log cabins had been in-built the late Nineteen Twenties. The fashionable city was surveyed in 1962 and have become operational by 1963.
The city was a joint-venture between the Canadian Government and mine owner’s Cominco. It became a territorial settlement within the Seventies with personal businesses and boasted a population of one,200 at its peak. Pine purpose had Associate in Nursing college|grade school|grammar school|primary school|school} (kindergarten to grade 5)–Galena Heights—and a grade vi to twelve school, known as Matonabbee faculty. The last year was in 1988 because the mine was closing. The city was served by Northwest Territories road five and by a railway line owned by Canadian National Railway. It conjointly had Associate in Nursing aerodrome.
