The tower set in town, Iowa, is one in every of the last remaining shot towers within the u. S.. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a recognized image of the town. At its location close to the river, the Tower is seen from the riverwalk and is presently undergoing in depth renovations. It stands 120’5″ tall.The tower was in-built 1856 to produce lead shot for the military.In 1976, the tower was listed within the National Register of Historic Places. Tuckpointing and repairs presently followed, and in 2004, the tower became a part of current riverfront renovations.
