Newspaper Rock State Historic Monument is in jap Mormon State, western u. S., settled to the east of Canyonlands parkland on Hwy 211. It’s twenty eight miles northwest of Monticello and fifty three miles south of Moab. The Monument options a Flat Rock with one amongst the biggest identified collections of petroglyphs.
Formerly a state park, Newspaper Rock is currently selected a State Historical Monument, and is settled on the comparatively well-traveled road into The Needles District of Canyonlands parkland, twelve miles (19 km) from North American country 191 and thirty miles (48 km) from the park boundary.
The 200-square-foot (19 m2) rock could be a a part of the vertical Wingate arenaceous rock cliffs that enclose the higher finish of Indian Creek ravine, and is roofed by many ancient Indian petroglyphs (rock carvings)—one of the biggest, best preserved and simply accessed teams within the Southwest.
