Inyokern (formerly, Siding sixteen and Magnolia) could be a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, us. Inyokern is found eight miles (13 km) west of Ridgecrest. It’s on the western aspect of the Indian Wells vale. The population was one,099 at the 2010 census, up from 984 at the 2000 census. It had been a railroad city established on the Southern Pacific railroad Lone Pine Branch (now removed). It’s served by Inyokern airdrome.
It lies in Indian Wells vale, with the japanese slopes of the Sierra Sagebrush State rising to the west. It is on U.S. Route 395, the most north-south artery, connecting the landlocked Empire to metropolis, Nevada. US 395 additionally connects Inyokern to l. A. Via State Route fourteen through Palmdale.
