Putnam could be a city in Windham County, Connecticut, u. S.. The population was nine,002 as of the 2000 census. It’s home to tasteful, associate AM station. Putnam, originally referred to as Aspinock, then a part of sidesplittingly, could be a geographic area mill city incorporated in 1855. Created from sections of sidesplittingly, Pomfret, Woodstock, CT and Thompson, the city was named in honor of Revolutionary War General Israel Putnam. Putnam was a key contributor in providing clothing and other goods to the warfare soldiers. There have been varied mills and a train ran through the city, providing transportation for the products being made.
